14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Are you waiting for the lost world to appreciate you as a Christian? If so, you'll be waiting a long time. As believers we need to understand a simple, basic biblical truth. It's not just that they don't like us, today's simple truth is that the lost world is not capable of understanding even the elementary truths about God and His Word that we take for granted. Things that seem so simple to us often represent an insolvable conundrum to those that are not members of God's family.
Don't believe me? Think about how they represent us in movies and television. When was the last time you saw a movie where the Christian was not either a complete moron or a homicidal maniac. I saw a movie not long ago where the preacher turned out to be a werewolf. And God help believers like Mike Pence who go into politics. We think it's because they don't like us when it's really that they're not capable of knowing things on a spiritual level.
Look at what this Scripture says about the simple truth of knowing the deep things of the Spirit.

14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Simply put, the natural man is any individual who has not trusted in Jesus only for salvation.
