Have you ever had someone - pastors can relate to this, people in ministry can relate to this big time, Sunday school teachers can relate to this big time, but so can parents and so can guardians. When you have someone that you love, someone that you've invested your life into, and all of a sudden that person turns on you, it's not a fun thing. It's very bewildering how some people can do that. It's like, what happened? The last time I saw you just a month ago we were buddies and now you don't like me, and I don't remember doing anything to you. That's kind of the situation that Paul found himself in. And you know what was funny about Paul? He had that happen to him a lot. Here is arguably the greatest Christian who ever lived. I mean, he walked with God and God used him. He wasn't perfect. He made mistakes. But, man, he's got a heart for the Lord. He's got an amazing testimony. Very few people have a testimony like Paul's, right - where there was a bright light and God spoke to me from heaven? Not very many people have one like that. I mean it was powerful! The Lord used him in a powerful way. God used Paul to write most of the New Testament, a smart, smart guy. And here he is, and he wants to serve the Lord, wants to please the Lord. He has so much opposition in his life. And people that he invested in turn on him. And that's what happened in the book of Galatians that he talks about.
Here's our question: How are we to respond when people turn from the truth and turn on us; when people, who used to be embracing us and close to us and listening to us and walking with us in the faith, all of a sudden they turn? Parents have experienced that. Different parents have experienced that with children who all of a sudden they're like, ''What happened to you? Now you're going in the wrong direction. You don't want to have anything to do with us. And you're choosing a lifesty ...
