Galatians 5:13-15
How many people have ever been church shopping, can I see your hand? All right, pretty much everybody at one time, probably, unless you were born here. If you move to a different place, as a Christian, one of the first things on your mind, on your heart to say is, ''okay, where I am going to go to church?'' I've heard from numerous people that have left our church and have moved to a different city, and they're trying to find a church. And the problem is churches are all different. And so, when you've had a good church experience, and you leave that church to go somewhere else, you want to find your same church in just a different city, and it doesn't exist. And so it can be a difficulty.
When Debbie and I were called into ministry, we left a church that we loved, the church we met at, the church where the Lord had done great things where two of our three children, Sarah was not old enough, but two of the three had been saved and baptized in that church. And so leaving there was a big deal. Moving from Houston, Texas and go to Wake Forest, North Carolina, that was a big deal. So we're trying to find a church. And we're going to this church, and going to that church, and going to the other church. And you know, it's a given when we looked for a church that this church is going to preach the Word of God, they're going to believe the Word of God, they're going to have orthodoxy in their belief, which means they believe the right things about the main things, the person of Jesus Christ, the Trinity, the blood atonement, the bodily resurrection, those kinds of things. I mean, that's just a given. But then you go to a church, and if you know this is a solid church, theologically, then what do you look for? You look for how you can fit. You look for how warm this place is. Debbie and I went to a church. We ended up joining a little church. It had 125 peopl ...
