HOPE FOR A PURE HEART
JER 29:11-13 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the
LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give
you hope and a future. Then you will call upon Me and come and
pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find
Me when you seek Me with all your heart.
HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT YOUR LIFE TODAY?
I. BE HONEST! "MY LIFE IS PURE __________." POSSIBILITIES?
* HASSLED, HURRIED?
ONE OF MY FAVORITE STORIES IS ABOUT THE MAN WHO WAS DRIVING A
TWO TON ENCLOSED DELIVERY TRUCK AND EVERY TIME HE CAME TO A RED
LIGHT, AND HE STOPPED, HE WOULD IMMEDIATELY JUMP OUT RUN AROUND
AND HIT THE SIDES OF HIS TRUCK WITH A BASE BALL BAT.
A MAN WHO NOTICED THIS WEIRD BEHAVIOR, FOLLOWED HIM FROM LIGHT
TO LIGHT, AND FINALLY YELLED AT HIM, "HAY, WHY ARE YOU DOING
THAT?"
HE REPLIED, "WELL YOU SEE, THIS IS A TWO TON TRUCK,
AND I HAVE THREE TONS OF CANARIES INSIDE,
SO I HAVE TO KEEP ONE TON IN THE AIR AT ALL TIMES."
* JUNK, PAIN, TORTURE,... GREED, AMBITION, LUST,....
* PEACE, SERENITY, HAPPINESS, BLISS, JOY!!!!
James 1:2-4 Consider it PURE JOY, my brothers, whenever you
face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of
your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its
work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking
anything.
* WHAT DOES "PURE JOY" LOOK LIKE? MOLLY'S BATH, "HURRY!",
"WHY?"
DO I SPEND MY TIME "LIVING" OR "WAITING TO LIVE?"
MOLLY EXPERIENCES JOY ALMOST CONTINUOUSLY. SHE ENJOYS
EVERYTHING.
SHE IS NOT WAITING TO LIVE... SHE SIMPLY LIVES! ...
