Jeremiah 3:1-25
In 1994, a movie hit the big screen. It was a pretty big production in 1994. It cost fifty-five million dollars to make it, plus advertising costs. The movie was a massive hit. It made almost seven hundred million dollars. It was called Forrest Gump. Many of you saw Forrest Gump. Forrest Gump was an interesting story. It just highlighted and chronicled the life of one guy named Forrest Gump played by Tom Hanks. Forrest Gump was a slow-witted, kind-hearted, athletically-gifted man. He was a stud on the Alabama Crimson Tide football team, playing for Bear Bryant, as a running back. He was ping-pong champion. He was amazing. And he won the Congressional Medal of Honor when he served in Viet Nam for saving pretty much his entire platoon when they were attacked. He saved Lt. Dan Taylor, but Lt. Dan wasn't so glad about being saved. Watch the screens.

''Well, ye, ye, yes, sir, I do.''
''Did you hear what I said? You cheated me. I had a destiny. I was supposed to die in the field with honor, that was my destiny, and you cheated me out of it. Do you understand what I'm saying, Gump? This wasn't supposed to happen, not to me. I had a destiny. I was Lt. Dan Taylor.''
''Well, yo, you still Lt. Dan.''
''*** Ah, look at me. What am I going to do now? What am I going to do now?''
Lt. Dan had experienced some very, very difficult circumstances. He wasn't responding well to the circumstances.
I want to ask you, as you look into your own life and the difficulties that come into everyone's life, you look at the difficulties that have come to you, how do you respond to those? Do you respond like Lt. Dan ...
