Mealtime was always a magic time for the Easley's, even when I was growing up. What made it magical was that it brought us all together. We may have all been going in different directions all day long, but at the end of the day, we gathered around the dinner table to eat and hear about each other's day and catch up.
Whether it was my mother when I was growing up or my wife after I got married and had my own family: we always had some good eating!! You didn't want to miss mealtime!
I've been blessed to have both a mother and a wife who love to cook and good at it! It's how they both express their love!
Mealtime at the Easley's was not complete without a homemade desert! The specialty for over eighty years has been chocolate pie, made from a recipe that my wife got from my Mother who got it from her Mother who got it from her Mother! We're not sure where she got it! We're talking about a chocolate pie recipe that can be traced back to the 1800's!

In fact, when Julie and I were planning our wedding, (OK, when Julie was planning our wedding), I had requested my mother's chocolate pie to be served at the groom's table! To my disappointment, both my wife and Mother voted me down.
Desert was so good that sometimes I wanted to START with desert followed by the meal. I mean, the meal was going to be good, but why not start with desert? Why wait?
Well as we continue our study in the names of God under the heading ''WHAT A WONDERFUL NAME,'' we're heading straight to the desert! I mean, there's still more names to feed on, but I'm anxious to get to the desert.
