We don't like to suffer and we would not choose to suffer, but God uses suffering to build our character by teaching teach us humility.

A.W. Tozer said, ''It is doubtful whether God can bless a man greatly until he has hurt him deeply.'' Throughout the Scriptures there are many examples of people who suffered before God used them such as: Job, David, Peter and Paul. This truth is clearly demonstrated in the life of Joseph.

Henry Ward Beecher (d. 1887) was an American preacher known for his emphasis on God's love he said, ''Troubles are often
the tools by which God fashions us for better things.''

The two dreams which Pharaoh had revealed the same truth.
God was showing him what was to come in the future.

Bill Crowder - ''The ultimate lesson Joseph had learned through
slavery, imprisonment, and mistreatment was that God was in
control. He had learned to rest in the sovereignty and faithfulness
of God. Now he could say with confidence that if God said it,
it would happen. Pharaoh's dreams would be fulfilled because
God is God.''

:26 There would be seven years of great prosperity over the land followed by seven years of a terrible famine.

:28 Notice that three times Joseph has mentioned that it is God who has revealed the truth to Pharaoh (:16, 25,28). Joseph does not take credit but wants Pharaoh to understand there is a God who controls history. He is sovereign over everything that happens.

Interpretation :29-32
This coming famine is worse than any of the other disasters foretold in the OT. During Elijah's time (750 BC) God sent a drought that lasted for 3½ years (I Kings 17:1; 18:1).
