Journey Through the Bible Week 38 (38 of 52)
Series: 365 Day Journey Through the Bible
Donald Cantrell
Daniel 7-12, Hosea, Amos 1-9
Day 260 September 17 - Daniel 7, 8, and 9
The book of Daniel is often known for a few of its glamorous stories, which are known by most believers, but the vast majority of this book is about biblical prophecies, dreams, visions, and world changing events. There is much more to this book besides the test that Daniel and his friends passed in chapter one, the fiery furnace of chapter three, the time when Nebuchadnezzar turned into a wild beast from chapter four, the fiery furnace of chapter five, and the lion's den of chapter six. The first few chapters of Daniel deal with kingly dreams or heavenly visions, but the latter half of Daniel deals with his own personal dreams and visions. The book of Daniel is filled to the brim with prophetic utterances that are shocking and stunning, in seeing how they were fulfilled down to the minutest details. The critics want to attribute this book to be historical rather than prophetical due to its accuracy of earth shaking events.

I truly do not have the time to give you much on the vision of the four beasts from chapter 7, but they are related to the dream of chapter 2.
I - The Four Beasts Explained (Daniel 7)
II - The Ram and Goat Examined (Daniel 8)
III - The Seventy Weeks Expounded (Daniel 9)
Point to Ponder
The vast statue that Nebuchadnezzar dreamed about had four different types of metal. Daniel breaks those four metals down into four beasts, the lion, the bear, the panther, and the nondescript beast. These four beasts represen ...
