Ezekiel 34-Daniel 6

Day 253 September 10 - Ezekiel 34, 35, and 36

In chapter 34, the Lord gives us contrasting views of a false shepherds and a faithful shepherd. The children of God are likened as to sheep and sheep always need guidance, sustenance, and at time even deliverance. The Lord uses this analogy of the sheep and the shepherd with Israel and with the church. The Lord is the Great Shepherd and we are his sheep, who at times are prone to wander away, to get dirty, to become lost, and are very needy. The children of God were like sheep that were wandering around aimlessly and without a shepherd.
