Over Coming Fear of Rejections
Fenton Moorhead
Proverbs 29:25

WHAT WILL OTHER PEOPLE THINK? LIVE BY FEAR OF REJECTION!

TODAY,...YOU CAN'T BE TOO YOUNG, TOO THIN, OR TOO RICH, OR POSSIBLE REJECTION. THE BEAUTIFUL WRINKLE FREE LIFE.

WHAT IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN FITTING IN? BEING IN FASHION? BEING A PART OF AN ''IN'' GROUP? BEING POPULAR? HAVING ALL THE POWER AND STATUS SYMBOLS OF SUCCESS EVEN IF PAYING FOR IT HAS RUN YOU OUT OF CONTROL INTO DEBT?

Pro. 29:25 Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe.

NOT EVERYONE LIKES YOU...HAVE YOU FIGURED THAT OUT YET? REJECTION LEAVES A MARK ON US...AND LEAVES A FEAR THAT IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN.

I. FEAR OF REJECTION WILL:

-allow others to manipulate us.

GLEAM GIVES YOU SEX APPEAL? IF I DON'T BY A CERTAIN PRODUCT, I'M NOT A WHOLE PERSON, I DON'T FIT. WHEN I BUY THE PRODUCT I'M BUYING ACCEPTANCE? POWER, STATUS? ANDRE AGASSI, ''IMAGE IS EVERYTHING.''

-cause us to conform to peer pressure. DO IT TO FIT IN?

-keep us from speaking the truth.

ATMOSPHERE AT WORK? WHY DO PEOPLE LIE? ''I DON'T DRINK. NO THANKS.''

-prevent us from giving and receiving love.

I GOT BURNED. PAST HURTS KEEP US FROM RISK OF A NEW RELATIONSHIP.

-reinforce shyness and lonliness.

-produce unhappiness and depression.

LIVING FOR APPROVAL IS A MISERABLE WAY TO LIVE.

-silence our witness for Christ.

SOMETIMES SILENCE ISN'T GOLDEN ITS YELLOW.SOME PEOPLE ARE GOING TO REJECT YOU! WHO DO YOU WANT TO PLEASE?

I Sam. 15:24 Then Saul said to Samuel, ''I have sinned. I violated the LORD'S command and your instructions. I was afraid of the people and so I gave in to them.'' John 12:42 ...Many even among the leaders believed in him. But because of the Pharisees they would not confess their faith for fear they would be put out of the synagogue; for they loved praise from men more than praise from God.
