Intro: Word of admonition for you... in American we are blessed to live in a country where we usually don't have to worry about where the next meal comes from... things like this come along and it shakes us up a little... I want to remind you that God never wanted us to trust in the economy anyway, but to trust Him. He knows the hairs on our head... We are responsible only to obey Him. He is responsible to provide for us. In this time, you should ask God, ''God, how do you want me to spend my money?'' Lean times are times you can really give in faith. God, I'm going to give sacrificially, and trust you to provide for me tomorrow.

When it comes to difficult objections, this one may top the list... Tim Keller, in the book our SLG's are reading, calls this objection a defeater... which means some reason that from the start people would say, ''Well, if Christians believe that, then Christianity couldn't possibly be true.'' They say, How could anyone take Christianity seriously if it teaches that there is a place called hell where God sends people who reject Him eternally?

Because if that were true, that would make God seem cruel, mean and vengeful. Some kind of sadist who delights in torturing people because they don't believe in Him.1 ?

Also, for some, it just doesn't seem fair. Punishment seems to exceed the crime... live a life that is really not all that bad; you live for 70 years, and then go to hell for eternity? ?

Finally, what about the people that have never heard of Jesus? Some people try to avoid it by saying ''Well, Hell: that was God version 1.0; ?Old Testament God, God in His Jr. Hi years when He was cranky. Mature ?1 Clark Pinnock, who used to be one of the big n ...
