On Friday evening, October 24, we are replacing our annual missions conference with an interactive encounter with the ancient church in prayer, worship, teaching, fellowship, and communion. Today there is an insert in your worship guide that you can use to register for this free event... or go to our website. We aren't going to give it all away because the evening is going to be something you have to experience for yourself. This is for our entire church...one of the few times we get to be one church in one location, so don't miss it.
This is the last week of this series and I know for many of you this has been difficult... it's made your brain hurt. I have been a little worried about those of you who just don't think this way... I really felt like for the sake of this community we needed to do it... not just in here, but people who download the (podcast: 8-9000). One of the biggest problems people have with Christianity is sometimes the Bible itself. Listen to these things from our website:

Sending bears to tear children apart, condoning and
sanctioning rape, encouraging the fanaticism that says it

This seems to be an especially difficult problem for people in our area... mostly highly educated areas in the US. More PhD's per capita...; Our area is known worldwide as a medical and pharmacology hub and we have a lot of those people in our church... I like to tell people that ''lots of drug dealers go to our church.'' (pharmacists)
So what do we do with this? 2 Peter... Peter explains to you 2 very special qualities about the Bible that make it significant. We'll look at those and then some try to answer some objections people have about the Bible:
