INDISPUTABLE AND INFALLIBLE PROOFS (2)
Indisputable and Infallible Proofs (2)
Donald Cantrell
Acts 1: 3
Act 1:3 KJV - To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:
I - The Marvelous Person
II - The Mentioned People
III - The Matchless Proofs
IV - The Measured Days
V - The Main Plan
This sermon will give us an up close and personal look at the importance of those forty days that took place between the resurrection and the crucifixion. It was during those forty days that Christ reinforced who he said that he was and poured more into those men than he had previously taught them.
The difference was that before the resurrection of Christ, most of what he had taught them looked forward, but after his resurrection they were looking backwards. The events that unfolded during that forty day period were enough to ignite those men enough that that would in turn ignite the world. You will not want to miss this sermon series ''From Mount Calvary to Mount Olivet.''
Theme: ''The resurrection of Christ was confirmed over a 40 day period''
PROOF OF WHO HE IS
This reminds me of the three lunatics in an insane asylum: The first lunatic said to the second, ''Did you know that I'm Napoleon Bonaparte?''
Indignantly, the second lunatic replied, ''I beg your pardon! It just so happens that I am Napoleon Bonaparte!''
The first lunatic said, ''Oh yeah! Who says you're Napoleon Bonaparte?''
The second lunatic responded by saying, ''God told me so.''
That aroused the third lunatic who said, ''I DID NOT!''
Now you know as good as I do that no one would take seriously these three men's claims about who they are, especially the third one.
We may ask why? Because none of them had the proofs to give credibility to their claims, but Jesus did have credibility for his claims--because of the resurrection!
