Isaiah 42- Jeremiah 3
Day 218 August 6 - Isaiah 42, 43, and 44
In chapter 42 we read about the servant of Jehovah who was unequivocally the Lord Jesus Christ. The book of Mark depicts Jesus as the servant of God that came to minister and to give his life a ransom for many. Jesus was that servant that came to bring light unto the Gentiles. If not for his coming and his concern, the Gentile world might still be afar off from the good grace of God. Jesus loved us enough to come and die for us and in dying for us, he proved to be that lowly servant of God. If not for him we would all be dwelling in darkness and would not be partakers of the salvation of God.
Point to Ponder
Jesus was not just the light of the world but he opened up the eyes of the blind and brought prisoners out of prison. Those that were in bondage and dwelling in darkness had their spiritual eyes opened and were allowed to see the light of God. I once was blind but now I see is the phrase that every sinner can sing because we have been brought out of darkness and bondage. Jesus did not just come to earth to heal a few people that had physical vision issues or that were merely crippled by a physical disease. He came to this earth to satisfy the demands of God concerning mans sinfulness and separation. Jesus died upon the cross and in doing so he satisfied the demand of God and then he arose from the dead. He has the power to offer his eternal light to the spiritually blind and in seeing he will remove them from spiritual bondage.
I - Idolatry Condemned (Isaiah 42)
II - Israel Considered (Isaiah 43 and 44)
Point to Ponder
In chapter 43 we find the love of God for his chosen people the Jews and his perpetual presence and protection of them. He passed through the waters of the Red Sea and the water of Jordan stood up as a high wall. The Lord is able to see us through any s ...
