Now as we continue our series of messages under the heading, ''WHAT A WONDERFUL NAME,'' open your book of names, your Bible, and turn with me to Exodus 15.

What wonderful names God bears that help us know Him better! For every name He bears gives us a clearer understanding of His nature and activity in our life. That's why if you really want to know God intimately, get to know His names!

Do you remember when God would most often reveal a new name to His people? It was when they had their backs up against a wall, during times of great difficulty or even crisis. God would step in and reveal a new name to them that gave them something to cling to!

Every new name was a game-changer for them! God would reveal a new name, which caused His people to say, ''Well, if THAT'S who God is and if THAT'S what He does, with Him I can get through this; I can push through this though the odds are against me because with HIM, nothing is impossible.''

And as we're going to see again tonight, with HIM, nothing is really impossible! NO-THING!

Now this 15th chapter of Exodus begins with Moses and the children of Israel singing a song to the LORD. By the way, this is the first song found in the Bible.

You ask, ''Ernest, what's all the singing about?'' Well, they're singing praises to the LORD for delivering them from the hand of Pharaoh by opening up the Red Sea and allowing them to walk across on dry land! THAT would even cause a Baptist to break out in song!

The song begins in verses 1-3, ''I will sing to the LORD, For He has triumphed gloriously! The horse and its rider He has thrown into the sea! The LORD is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation; He is my God, and I will praise Him; My father's God, and I will exalt Him. The LORD is a man of war, The LORD is His NAME!!''
