Proverbs 30- Isaiah 8
Day 204 July 23 - Proverbs 30 and 31
We have no knowledge of this person named ''Agur.'' The name most likely is derived from the word ''Aguar'' which is interpreted as ''pious.'' We have come to the last two chapters in the book of Proverbs and we have had the honor of learning many valuable lessons on life from this book. In verse 8 of chapter 30 we read some very interesting requests from Agur. He asked that the Lord would not send him poverty or riches. He asked that God would give him what was appropriate for his life. He was afraid of receiving riches because there was a possibility that he become lax in his fullness and forget God. He was afraid of poverty because it might drive him to sin and in doing so he would dishonor the Lord. He was willing to place his life in the hand of God and trust that God would give him what was appropriate. It is not a sin to be rich, but there are many that cannot be rich because the moment that have an abundance of wealth, they walk away from the Lord.
Point to Ponder

He read from chapter 30:33 and then placed his friend in a headlock and begins to ring his nose until it began to bleed. He proved to him that the bible was true. The bible is not an untruthful book, it is a very intellectual book, yet it is also a very simple book.
