1.0 The Great Promise (Jer. 29:11-14a) [P. 558]
1.1 We're all familiar with what seeking means.

A) It's a picture of a lawyer searching for legal grounds on which to hang his case.

News: The Martin Family sought for a murder conviction for George Zimmerman. That didn't occur. Now, they're seeking the violation of Trayvon's civil rights.

B) It's a shopper standing outside the mall on the morning of Black Friday.

Story: USA Today reports that single guys text blasts for dates. The article says: ''Guys are using text message to send the same message to multiple women, 'Hey, do you want to hang out tonight,' They're kind of fishing for a response.''

Heb. 11:6-''He rewards those who earnestly seek him.''

2.0 How Do I Seek God? [I offer 5 answers.]
[#1] Seek Him with ALL your Heart.

Note: The word seek means: 1) To search out (by any method especially worship or prayer); and, 2) To strive after-to beseech, enquire, ask, and make request.

Jer. 29:13-''You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.''

A) A focused heart is a receptive heart.

1. A heart free from multiple goals that take first place can hear God's heart.

2. A heart that has surrendered to God, as a soldier to his commanding officer, is a heart positioned to find God.

Story-My dream of getting an astigmatism reflected a distracted heart.''

In his classic book The Pursuit of God, A. W. Tozer wrote: ''Come near to the holy men and women of the past and you will soon feel the heat of their desire after God. They mourned for Him, they prayed and wrestled and sought for Him day and night, in season and out, and when they had found Him the finding was all the sweeter for the long seeking.'' What made these men and women leave their marks on history is the fact that they were SEEKERS after God for their generations.
