1.0 The Topic of Fools is Most Interesting (Prov. 14:7).

G.K. Chesterton, the renowned English philosopher and poet once said: ''There are a good many fools who call me a friend, and also a good many friends who call me a fool.'' Chesterton was on to something. In each of us there is a blind spot that may cause us to be characterized as a fool to an observer who happens to see clearer in that particular area of life.

Disclaimer:

1) Don't call anyone a fool! It's hurtful and unwise.

Matt. 5:22-Jesus said: ''Again, anyone who says to his brother, 'Raca,' is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell.'' [Raca is an Aramaic term of contempt.]

- To call a brother a fool is to declare him worthless.
- To conclude that a person is worthless is to say that the world would be a better place without him.
- Our Lord did not condemn the assessment of a person's character, but the assassination of one's character.

1.0 Why Does God Warn Against Fools?

Note: A fool is a person who repeatedly demonstrates the lack of sound judgment or basic common sense. There is a longstanding regularity of idiocy in the major areas of life or in relationships. The word fool, foolish, folly, etc. appears roughly 240 times in the Bible.

1.1 Foolishness is contagious (Prov. 14:7-8).

1. Their actions despise knowledge and wisdom. Their actions are the polar opposite of knowledge and wisdom.

2. Their actions diminish our ability to discern the truth of it; or its full impact.
