1.0 What Does Compromise Mean (1 Kings 11:1-13)?
1.1 Compromise offers a dual meaning.

A) The 1st meaning of compromise is to come to terms, reaching a settlement, a middle ground; or an understanding.

1. Compromise is good when solving disputes in politics, disagreements between two enemies, or creating healthy outcomes in relationships.

B) The 2nd meaning of compromise is to expose to suspicion or danger; to jeopardize; to hazard; to endanger.
1. Compromise is bad when it comes to honoring and obeying the will and commands of God.

1.2 Jesus spoke strongly against compromise.

Matthew 6:24-He said, ''No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money''.

A) The religious leaders wanted Jesus to compromise and ''mix'' His message and ministry with theirs, but He refused to do so. He did not come to patch up the old but to bring in the new.

In the first season of the popular TV show 24, Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) is a federal agent charged with protecting a presidential candidate from an assassination plot.
He was given that responsibility because in the uncertain world of espionage he possesses that rare character trait of integrity.
