What is Cross-Cultural Worship (Rev. 7:9-11)? Worship is the Greek word proskuneo, which means ''to prostrate oneself in homage; to do reverence; to adore.'' The word ''worship'' can be traced to the Old English word, ''worth-ship.'' In worship we express our love, adoration, and honor to God for His intrinsic worth and value.

Worship is a heart responding to God.

Cross-cultural worship is a worship experience that gives every culture present access to enjoy and encounter God.

How Can We Enjoy Cross-Cultural Worship? We must understand the PATTERN in heaven. A pattern is anything designed to serve as a model or a guide. Worship should have symbols and sounds that provide meaning to the worshipper of their journey. White Robes: a symbol of victory and righteousness Palm Branches: a symbol of festive joy.

Keep the main thing the main thing. Worship God! They stood before the throne of Almighty God-the symbol of acceptance and honor as God's servants. They stood in front of the Lamb. In worship our focus must be on Christ. Keep your worship vertical and not horizontal. Look Godward and not on your culture or race.

Christ's act of redemption fueled their celebration.
They celebrated their forgiveness and salvation.

We must PRACTICE the pattern on earth.

This requires vulnerability (people are shepherded and not driven by the music of leaders); ease in focus (volume of music); and visual models (diversity of leaders).
