In this sermon we deal with the death of a godly wife, a wonderful mother, and a fabulous foster parent. JoAnn and her husband had been married for 63 years and he was a preacher and former pastor. The couple had 8 natural children, 3 adopted children, and had foster parented over 130 children over a 29 year period of time.
I - The Unexpected Loss
JoAnn was a church on the Sunday before her unexpected death occurred on the following Tuesday morning at 12:40 AM. The last words that she spoke at church were asking for prayer for her youngest daughter who was sick. The next day at noon time she experienced a severe stroke and was rushed to the hospital and died about 12 hours later.
