Psalms 99- Psalms 119
Day 183 July 2 - Psalms 99, 97, 98, 99, 100, 101, and 102
In Psalms 94 - 100 we have a short series of chapters that tell the story of the Messiah as he reigns during the coming Millennial Kingdom. The world may mock Christians and despise the name of Jesus Christ as of now but when he sits down upon his throne in the coming kingdom the entire world will bow to his very name. These Psalms are songs of praise to the person of Jesus Christ as the reigning king of the Jews and the world. In chapter 96 we read that the entire world will sing forth his praises and the reason that all will sing is that he is reigning as the king of the world. The place of his habitation will be in the sanctuary of the rebuilt temple in Zion or Jerusalem.
Point to Ponder
God is a God of clouds and chapter 97 mentions him dwelling in the Shekinah glory cloud. We were privy of reading about this cloud that settled down upon Mount Sinai and then this same cloud led Israel about as they traveled throughout the wilderness. Isaiah the prophet saw this same cloud when he went into the temple upon the death of King Uzziah. Moses experienced this same cloud when he went up into the mount with God and his face glowed for many days. The disciples were witnesses to this same cloud as it took Jesus away upon the Mount of Olivet. We will see this cloud when Jesus returns upon this cloud to take us back to heaven with him.
I - The Joyful Songs (Psalm 96, 97, 98, and 99)
II - The Joyful Noise (Psalm 100)
III - The Joyful Worshiper (Psalm 101)
IV - The Joyful Prisoner (Psalm 102)
Point to Ponder
In chapter 100 we read a beautiful little Psalm of worship and praise. It has been called ''A Hymn about Him.'' What more can be added to those words!!!
Point to Ponder
In chapter 102 we read of a believer that feels like a prisoner of his sorrows an ...
