Psalms 26- Psalms 65
Day 169 June 18 - Psalms 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, and 31
In chapter 26 we find that David was firm in his walk with God. When you think of King David, what do you think about? Do you recall the time that he killed Goliath the mighty giant? Do you always remember the sin that he committed with Bathsheba and how he had her husband killed? The bible does not major on those things when it talks about the Shepherd of Israel. The bible actual portrays David as a man that loved God and chased after the heart of his God. Just because a person does something wrong that does not define who they truly are.
Point to Ponder
In chapter 27 we see one of the most precious prayers to be found in the bible. In this Psalm the Lord gives his children light, strength, courage, protection, confidence, a dwelling place and a secret place. It is a blessing to read this Psalm and see the tender care God has for his own.
I - The Personal Plea (Psalm 26)
II - The Precious Prayer (Psalm 27)
III - The Painful Portrait (Psalm 28)
IV - The Powerful Portrayal (Psalm 29)
V - The Proper Praise (Psalm 30)
VI - The Private Pavilion (Psalm 31)
Point to Ponder
In chapter 28 we see the painful cry of David as trouble surrounds him. We see that David is thankful that the Lord will take care of him and protect him from those that are seeking his death.
Point to Ponder
In chapter 31 we see the secret pavilion that God affords his dear children to flee to in times of hardship and danger. He is our rock, our fortress, our shield, our protector, and our provider. It does not matter how powerful or mighty the enemy are that come our way, our heavenly father affords us hope and help in the very midst of despair.
