John 14:1-6
John 14:1-6: ''Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.'' Thomas said to Him, ''Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?'' Jesus said to him, ''I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.''
Have you ever had that nagging thought in the back of your mind: I wonder if heaven is really real? I mean, I've never seen it. I've never talked with someone face to face who has been there. Is heaven really real? Have you ever thought that? I have. God knew we would. That's one reason Jesus reassures us that heaven is real.
Remember what He taught us to pray? ''Our Father who art in HEAVEN.'' Heaven is just as real as God. If God exists then heaven exists. Heaven isn't fairy tale; it's a reality.
Colossians 3:1-2: ''Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God's right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.'' What do we typically do though? We think about earth far more than heaven don't we? I got to thinking the other day...I think I know why people get so frustrated and irritated in life. It's because they are trying to make earth heaven. They're trying to get safe enough, and secure enough, and gets lots of enjoyment, and pleasure, and not worry too much or stress too much. And when it doesn't happen, they bust a gasket. When you try to make earth heaven...you will always be disappointed.
