There is a relativity new word that has made its entrance into modern vocabulary: ''Frenemy.'' A ''frenemy'' is someone who pretends to be a friend, but is actually an enemy.
The text says that Ammon had a friend in Jonadab, but I would suggest that Jonadab was more of a ''frenemy'' than a ''friend.''
Jonadab was:
A DECEITFUL Friend (5)
He knew the lust that was in Ammon's heart to defile his sister Tamar. He encouraged him to go against all that was right and holy.
He never talked him into it, because it was already in his heart, but he baited the hook, and Ammon took the bait.
A DANGEROUS Friend (15)
Instead of encouraging Ammon to do right, he encourages him to do wrong. As a result, after it was all said and done, Ammon hated Tamar with a greater hatred than the love that he thoug ...
