QUANTUM LIVING
Exploring What Jesus Taught About Life In The
Beatitudes
Rick Ferguson
Matthew 5:5
"Blessed are the MEEK for they shall inherit the
earth."
Introduction: I want to read a story I clipped out
of the Rocky Mountain News this past December 17th.
It is a story of an altercation between some a couple
of ladies doing Christmas shopping in a Toys R Us
store. As I read a portion of this news story, see if
this whole thing doesn't sound a little crazy to you.
An Aurora woman involved in a skirmish over a scooter

shopper but said, the woman scratched and kicked her
first.
"I hauled off and tried to knock her lights out, but I

person who starts anything, but if you put me in the
corner, I'll come back fighting."
Fisher was responding to allegations by two other
shoppers, Darrell Stettler and Andrea Allen who said
Fisher and her daughter attacked them at the store...
Fisher said the fight broke out over the last scooter
on display.
"We went straight to the scooter because we'd been
looking at it and we knew we were going to buy it,"
Fisher said.
Fisher and her daughter were unsure about taking the
last on in the display, so they were waiting for a
salesperson to help them, she said. When Fisher
turned around for a minute, Stetler and Allen walked
up and took the toy. They said a store employee gave
them permission to buy the last one.
As tensions mounted, the group went to the front of
the store to find a manager. That's when Allen walked
up to Fisher's daughter . . . and "bumped her," Fisher
said.
As the pushing and shoving escalated, Fisher hit Allen
with her purse.
All parties involved in the skirmish were issued
summonses to appear in Aurora Municipal Court on
Jan.8.
