Job 11- Job 34

Day 155 June 4 - Job 11, 12, and 13

In chapter 11 we read of Zophar and his legalistic accusations against his friend. After looking at the dialogues of the three friends of Job I would think he does not need any enemies. Zophar lived a life by the philosophy of sowing and reaping, action and reaction, good for good, and evil for evil. In the opening verses he simply calls Job a liar and says that he is covering up some sort of sin in his life. He mocked Job for saying that his doctrine and life was pure, because that could not be so by the affliction he was enduring. In verse 6 he goes on to tell Job that God has not even received half of the punishment that he should be receiving. That is a very lofty thing to say to a man that he just buried ten of his children, many of his servants, lost his fortune, and was entrenched in utter despair due to his body being racked with boils and sores.
