Day 148 May 28 - Nehemiah 10 and 11

In chapter ten we see a covenant that was made between the people and the Lord and all of their names were sealed within the covenant that was binding for cursings or blessings. There were a few real revivals in the Old Testament and this was one of the last one's we will read about in the history of this little nation. In the book of Esther we will see that there were people that still loved the Lord and saw some relief from the Lord in the midst of extinction, but this is the last real revival that we will read about and it only applied to the Southern Kingdom of Judah.

Point to Ponder

The beginning of this revival was the separating of God's people from those of other kingdoms. God is serious about his people being different than the heathen and true revival is intertwined with separation. This could only occur if everyone was on board including their sons, daughters, wives, and the husbands; nobody was exempt or would receive a pass for sinning. The Lord was firm upon there not being any type of mixing and mingling with other ethnicities between his people and that of other people. You might ask if it is the same for us in the church age and that is a valid question and should be truthfully and biblically answered. The answer is no, this does not apply to the church. The separation of marriages in the church is strictly that of the saved and the unsaved, which is strictly forbidden. There is no stipulation on different ethnicities from marrying, due to God says there is no such thing as Jew, Greek, or Barbarian, which means he only sees us as one race,
