James 3:13-18

Today, we are digging into a subject that is so vital for our world today, politics, family, education, vocation, you name it! It's also close to our home - it's something we've tried to incorporate into many aspects of raising our 4 kids. One is married now, one in college - nothing we can do about them now! Ha! But we have a chance with number 3and4!

James 3:13-18 (CSB)
13 Who among you is wise and understanding? By his good conduct he should show that his works are done in the gentleness that comes from wisdom. 14 But if you have bitter envy and selfish ambition in your heart, don't boast and deny the truth. 15 Such wisdom does not come down from above but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. 16 For where there is envy and selfish ambition, there is disorder and every evil practice. 17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peace-loving, gentle, compliant, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without pretense. 18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who cultivate peace.

In chapter 3 James is not just teaching us: he is mentoring us. He is pastoring. Not content to just give truth, but to get into the present needs of our lives. James dares to be real and practical. He's telling us the very important practical side of serving Jesus. Being a Christian is more than knowing the truth.. Being saved and studying. It's living a Jesus life - without living it out its only deception - (even the demons believe) - simply; Christianity is not just what you say... or what you know.. Its what you do.. How you live that matters
