Worship Magnifies The Generosity of God
Tonight, I want us to explore together the idea that our worship does more than magnify God's greatness. We are also engaged in magnifying God in his generosity.
Now, when I say the word generosity, we typically think about financial aspects almost immediately. And there is nothing wrong with that. It is certainly part of our experience with the word to lead us there. But tonight, GENEROSITY is much more than that.

Story of the Watch - received one unexpectedly from a mentor of mine. Blown away at his generosity!
When we see generosity, or engage in generosity, something actually happens in our brains. There is a firing of the synapses in the 'happiness' area, it is rewarded in our brains to act generously. This is a good thing, to encourage the virtue of generosity.
But how does this work in the realm of worship? Worship of an 'invisible' God? Do we see God as generous? And how do we respond to our perception of God? In the next little bit, let's take a look at the Bible and see who this God is and how the attribute of generosity is revealed, and then discover how humanity 'then' interacted with the Divine, and our responsibility now.
So, to get the clearest picture, we have to go back to the beginning.
GENEROSITY IN CREATION
Genesis 1:1 - There was nothing, then there was something.
Why? While I don't think I can answer that question in its entirety, I think part of is this idea: God is generous and wanted to share himself, give himself, to enjoy, to bring pleasure, to express, in generosity.
