Intro/Attention

There are three areas of focus for our church in 2018. These are not new or revolutionary concepts. They are just three things I want us to emphasize this year and beyond. We will focus on prayer, evangelism, and discipleship. I know these aren't new concepts or ideas but they are vitally important for spiritual growth.

We reach up to the Lord in prayer, we reach out to others in evangelism, and we reach in toward one another in discipleship. Today, I begin a series on prayer called, Great Prayers of the Bible. We will spend a few weeks searching the Bible for some of the most powerful prayers offered in the Old and New Testaments.

Today, we come to our second message in our series, Great Prayers of the Bible. And we will focus our attention on 1 Thessalonians 3:9-13 as we consider this subject: Praying for People Facing Hard Times. READ TEXT

*In June of 2013 news broadcasts across the country featured a little boy named Grayson Clamp doing something he had never done before.
