Day 106 April 16 - 1 Kings 10 and 11

The Queen of Sheba has heard of the wisdom and wonderment of King Saul, but it was not enough for her to merely hear, she wanted to see all of this with her own eyes. Upon arriving into the land of Israel and having her own personal tour, the queen is quick to admit that it was even more wonderful to see it in person. The testimony of her lips was that ''the half had only been told'' and the human vocabulary was inadequate in describing the wealth and wisdom of this mighty king. Solomon answered every question that she proposed to him and gave her insight on any and all of her inquiries. Solomon did not mind empowering others with his vast array of knowledge.

Point to Ponder

Solomon was so wealthy that every utensil n his house was pure gold and he even made 200 large body shields of pure gold and 300 small shields of pure gold. It seems that he had nothing else to do than to be creative with his vast wealth and he was able to put on a show of power for all to see. The throne that he sat upon was made of pure ivory and overlaid with pure gold. The drinking vessels in his house were pure gold and no silver was found in his house, this man was beyond rich. The city of Jerusalem had so much silver within it that it seemed to be of no more value than stones. Solomon was so wealthy from all of his tribute money that was coming in from all of those that were subject to Israel, that silver was deemed to be about as valuable as a rock. The man was off the charts as far as being wealthy.
