Marriage Matters (12)

Ephesians 5:25
The Constitution mandates a federal census every ten years. The census determines three things: the number of seats each state receives in the House of Representatives, the stakeholders who receive $400 billion of federal money, and our collective lifestyle.
In 2010, 309 million people resided in 105 million households: 51.5% of the households are husband/wife households, unmarried couple households numbered 5.48 million, and same-sex partner households numbered 358,000. That's .056 of 1% -- a number far lower than the media would lead you to believe!

The lowest marriage rate ever followed the Civil War in 1870 (the casualty count eliminated a high percentage of eligible bachelors). Then it peaked during and after World War 2, but ever since the marriage rate has declined.

The world wants us to believe that marriage as an institution is declining, that same-sex homes are increasing, that the divorce-rate is exploding, and the home is going to hell in the proverbial hand basket
The 2010 census refutes every one of those assertions! But, a marriage rate of 51.5% should be higher, a steady divorce rate of 45% should be lower; and more children than ever before are living in homes without their biological mother and father - and that's heartbreaking!
There is a Biblical term for couples who live together without the benefit of marriage: fornication. ...
