GRACE UNTO DEATH
Dr. Rick E. Ferguson
GENESIS 49:28 - 50:14

One of the great, great promises of God's Word that
has strengthened and blessed me over and over again is
a promise found in if Corinthians 9:8.

It says:

"And God is able to make all grace abound toward you,
that ye, having all sufficiency in all things may
abound to every good work."

Wow... What a promise. A promise of:

All grace, at
All times, abounding in
All sufficiency, to
All our needs'

Could it be true that God can supply us with an over
abundance of grace that is more than adequate to meet
any need, any problem, any crisis we might face?
believe it is.

I have discovered God's all sufficient grace to be
abundant and adequate in:

(1) Cleansing me from sin and providing salvation.

(2) Helping me through difficult moments of pain and
hurt.

(3) Directing and guiding me through significant
decisions.

(4) Strengthening through frightening moments of
sickness.

(5) Encouraging me through unusual, frightening
crisis.

All through my Christian life, I have never had a need
for which there was no supply of grace.

But, there is something all of us will face someday,
and down in our hearts we wonder if God's grace will
be sufficient in that moment. I am speaking about that
moment of death. When we have to look death in the
face - will there be enough grace to help us even
through death?

I want to show you today a beautiful display of God's
grace at work even in death in Genesis 49. Today we
are going to watch one of God's great patriarchs slip
off into eternity. And as we watch Jacob die, I want
you to notice the grace of God at work in his heart
and life. We are going to discuss today:

through major surgery and chemical treatment for a
very serious cancer. Jerry said to me, "Rick, when the
