Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Micah 5:2 ''But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Too little to be among the clans of Judah, From you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel His goings forth are from long ago, From the days of eternity.''

Matthew 2:2 ''Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.''

Psalm 24:7 Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. 8 Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, The Lord mighty in battle. 9 Lift up your heads, O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. 10 Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah

This scripture text is used in the very well-known classic Christmas musical compilation called Handel's Messiah. It is a strong and uplifting message regarding the Messiah Jesus. The Psalmist David encourages the reader to be encouraged, to lift up their heads and to be lifted up. He depicts Israel and now us the New Testament believers to be lifted out of a state of oppression, a season where defeat seems to abound, and he refers to us as gates and doors. I am reminded of Jesus' words in:

Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. 21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. 22 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

The door He is referring to is the door of our hearts. When we open our hearts to Him, the Almighty and Everl ...
