Will We Know Each Other in Heaven?
Rex Yancey
1 Corinthians 13:12

A frequently asked question to a pastor is ''will we know each other in heaven?'' The Bible says ''yes!''

I heard a story about a lady who died and went to heaven. When she appeared before the pearly gates, Peter informed her that all she had to do to get in was to spell love. She did and entered heaven.

About two weeks later, Peter enlisted this same woman to keep the gates while he did something else. Well, her husband died and appeared before the pearly gates. He saw his wife and told her he missed her and grieved himself to death. She informed him that he would have to spell a word to get in. He said what is it? She said Chezkolslavokia!

1 Corinthians 13:12 ''For now we see through a glass darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part, but then shall I know even as I am also known.''

Paul is comparing the present with the future. He reminds us that our knowledge is limited in this life. However, when we enter heaven those limitations will be removed. We shall know each other there in a fuller and better way than we know each other on earth.

If lost souls have the power of recognition, how much more will saved souls be able to recognize each other. As a parable, figures represent facts, and our Lord's parables were not related to mislead us but to instruct and enforce heavenly truths on the minds and hearts of the hearers.

3.THE TRANSFIGURATION ILLUSTRATES IT.

Luke 9:28-36, Jesus took Peter, James and John on the mountain, where he was transfigured before them. Suddenly Moses and Elijah appeared before them. Moses had been de ...
