Hebrews 11:1
Today is the beginning of a 2-part message I have titled, ''The Recipe for Abundance.'' Our God is a God of Abundance. His Word is filled with promises that He will bless us abundantly. But just like any good cook knows, you need the proper ingredients for your dinner or dessert to come out the way it should. To receive the abundance of all that God has for us, for your blessing to come out as He wants it to, there are 3 ingredients that are necessary:
1. The first ingredient is FAITH.
2. The second ingredient is PATIENCE.
3. The third ingredient is OBEDIENCE!
Let's put in the first ingredient. Let's talk about FAITH.
Have you ever taken a trip to Saturn or Jupiter? No! But someone built a satellite, or someone launched a rocket into space that took pictures of these planets and constellations, sent back pictures to earth, and because of that all the schools, colleges, and universities teach the existence of these planets based on the evidence of pictures. Even though we've never sent an astronaut to Pluto, we still believe it exists. Why? Because we have EVIDENCE that it exists.
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
In the Greek, the word EVIDENCE means a proof, that by which a thing is proven or tested, a conviction.
Webster's dictionary defines Evidence as something presented in support of the truth or accuracy of a claim. Synonyms include confirmation, corroboration, documentation, substantiation, and validation.
Faith is the EVIDENCE, so faith is the CONFIRMATION and SUBSTANTIATION of what I do not yet see in the natural. Faith in the Promises of God is the DOCUMENTATION of what I do not yet possess, yet I have the assurance that it is already mine. There is a CORROBORATION of the Word of God, the Spirit of God at work in me, and what I am experiencing as a believer in Jesus. My fait ...
