Day 78 March 19 - Judges 3, 4, and 5
The book of Judges will reveal to us a vicious cycle of {obedience} {disobedience {bondage} {repentance} {deliverance} and {obedience} etc... This went on for hundreds of years. During this period in the history of Israel they were without a king, and God sent the judges. These judges were people that were chosen by God and he gave them wisdom and backing to do the job.
Point to Ponder
The Philistines were chosen by the Lord to help God make Israel into a nation that knew how to deal with the enemy. God is going to use the Philistines just as he used Pharaoh back in the land of Egypt. The Lord can take a bad situation and make it beneficial to accomplish his will. Israel will learn the art of war as they continually deal with the Philistines. We must remember that they had previously been slaves and they had no military when the left the land of Egypt. In time God developed them into good warriors and they could overtake any nation with the back of the Lord.
