Sermon Summary: In this sermon series so far we have had three messages: 1) God expects us to live lives of maximum impact. 2) Goal-setting is a Biblical and practical way to maximize our impact. 3) We must take massive action to accomplish our goals. In this message I want to use the example of the Apostle Paul to review and illustrate all three of those ideas.

There must be lights burning brighter somewhere Got to be birds flying higher in a sky more blue If I can dream of a better land Where all my brothers walk hand in hand Tell me why, oh why, oh why can't my dream come true There must be peace and understanding sometime Strong winds of promise that will blow away the doubt and fear If I can dream of a warmer sun Where hope keeps shining on everyone Tell me why, oh why, oh why won't that sun appear
It is said that General George Patton was leading a group of men when they came to a river. It was cold, it had been snowing, the soldiers mumbled that it was impossible to cross the icy river with all of their gear. Patton listened briefly, then waded out into the water, swam across the river, climbed out on the other side, glared at them from the opposite bank for a moment, got back in, swam back and said to the soldiers, ''Do you think you can do it now?''
I want to review this series today by looking at an example of maximum impact. Biblically speaking there are so many to choose from. For instance, in the Old Testament we've already talked about Noah. We could talk about King David. David was the most influential king of the nation of Israel. More chapters are dedicated to his life than any other character in the Old Testament. He is so influential that the nation of Israel was known as the ''Kingdom of David'' for centuries after his death. Jesus, the messiah was called ''The son of David.'' Can y ...
