Life is but a Stopping Place

Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road,
to sweet eternity.

We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
but never meant to stay...

Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey's quicker,
For some the journey's slow.

And when the journey finally ends,
We'll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,

In this sermon we will discuss the life and death of a saint that loved God and patiently waited for his time to cross over from the land of the dying into the land of the living. In the midst of his pain and deep affliction, he patiently waited upon God and refused to wilt or waver in his faith. In these types of situations I find confirmation that God’s grace is truly sufficient.
The other day my granddaughter and I were eating at CiCi’s Pizza and Kinsley was looking at all of the food and said “Poppy, how did God make all of this food?” I laughed and tried to talk to her little five year old inquisitive mind and tell her about how food is prepared. Then we were out one night and she looked up into the clear nighttime sky and said “Poppy, how did the man get upon the moon?” At that point I wanted to refer her to the insurance guy on the TV commercials ...
