Jude 1-2

INTRO: ''Kept: Secure in an Unsecure Age.'' This morning we are beginning a journey together as a church through this penultimate - this next to the last - book in the bible called Jude.

ILLUS: I heard about a salesman who called a house one day. A little boy answered with a hushed voice. ''Hello.'' ''Is your mother there?'' ''Yes, but she's talking to the fireman.'' Crumbling culture? No.
Racial intolerance? No.
The rise of Muslim extremism? No.

A synthetic saint.

An apostate is somebody who professes to be saved but isn't.
An apostate is somebody who pretends to be saved but isn't.

Now, the word ''apostasy'' literally means, ''to fall away f ...
