It's ON! (2 of 9)
Series: Kept

Jude 3-4
INTRO: Take your Bibles now this morning and be turning with me to the little letter of Jude - right there at the end of your Bible. If you don't know exactly where Jude is located, like I shared with you last week, just keep turning right and if you get to ''Maps'' you've gone one book too far. Turn back one book, just before the book of Revelation and you'll find Jude.
We're entitling our series of sermons through Jude, ''KEPT: Secure in an Unsecure Age.''
I really believe that you're going to love this study because Jude is a man's man. He's not some sissified, sipping sophisticate with lace on his britches and his little pinky stuck up in the air.
He's a man's man.
He's rough and tough.
He's a fighter.
He's a scrapper.
You see this in the way that he wrote his book.
Rough and rugged.
Pointed and practical.
Timeless and timely.
Picturesque and powerful.
He's not going to pull any punches or sugar coat his message to make it acceptable to a candy-craving culture.
He's going to talk about:
Creeping Apostates.
Angels and demons fighting over the body of Moses.
Wandering stars and Raging waves, foaming up their own shame.
Empty clouds without water blown here and there.
Fruitless trees - twice dead - plucked up by the roots.
(Sometimes you might not exactly LIKE what Jude is saying, but you're never going to have to WONDER what he's said.)
Now, in verses 1 and 2 Jude gave us a GREETING and in verses 3 and 4 he's going to give us a WARNING. He's going to share with us what HE WANTED TO SAY and what HE HAD TO SAY. He's going to talk about our faith and our fight.
If you were to boil it all down to just two words, here's what Jude is saying, ''It's ON!''
ILLUS: Funeral Funnies:
My Uncle Don at my Mom's Funeral.
Frank Cox rear-ending hearse on way to graveside.
Dad having to call during funeral to ask for name of person in the casket.
Two South GA girls ...
