Jude 5-7

INTRO: Take your Bibles this morning and turn with me again to the little letter of Jude - right before the last book in your Bible, the book of the Revelation. Jude verses 5 through 7.

(IMAG) ''But I want to remind you, (This points back to the ''long ago'' in Verse 4) though you once knew this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe. 6 And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day; 7 as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.''

ILLUS: A widow and widower who were in a nursing home, and as you would imagine, they fell in love. They were smitten. One night in front of the TV the old man asked the old woman to marry him and she said ''yes.'' They were rolled back to their rooms, but when the old man woke up in the morning, he remembered asking her to marry him, but couldn't remember what she said. He was embarrassed, but finally, at breakfast, he admitted that he remembered asking her to marry him the night before, but couldn't remember her answer. She blew a sigh of relief saying that she remembered being asked the question and saying ''yes,'' but couldn't remember who'd asked her.

ILLUS: On the way home from church on Sunday morning we stop and get lunch from either Zaxby's, Sonic or McDonald's. Kim gives me this great big complex order. When we get to the window and they ask for my order, I never can remember, so I tell Kim to order.
