INTRO: This morning, I want to make a disclaimer right here at the beginning of this message. This morning I'm going to share with you what is really an alarming message. As a matter of fact, this is a message that ought to make each and every one of you sit up, listen up - become aware and alert - for the insidious intruders who try sneak in, unnoticed and undetected, to divide and destroy.

Q - How many of us really pay attention to alarms?

How many times have you heard a car alarm and jumped to your feet thinking someone's car was actually being broken in to?

What would happen if the fire alarm were to go off in this building this morning while I'm preaching - like it did my very first sermon in this pulpit? (Now, we are not planning on doing that, so if that were to happen, this is not a drill).

Most likely a few would file out the doors, perhaps look around, wondering what to do, whether this alarm is for real and what they're supposed to do next.

ILLUS: That's what it must have been like on June 27, 2013, at Windsor Castle. Hundreds, if not more, were there for Prince William's 21st birthday party, when suddenly, what should have been noticed, was not.

Alarm #1 went off at 10:04, just after a 37-year-old man scaled the castle wall, entering the grounds. But nobody did anything.

Alarm #2 sounded, as the man clambered over a wooden gate, but no one took an interest.

Alarm #3 would have gone off, but for the fact it was blocked by a contractor's vehicle and disabled by the police control room.

Alarm #4 sounded at 10:43, was reset and went off again.

(Now, if you are keeping count, this is alarm #5, and nobody is doing anything.)

Alarm #6 rang out at 10:44; the man is seen on the security cameras, but still, no one attempted to investigate. 

Alarm #7 activated a minute later as the intruder continued his mission, all captured on the cameras. A contractor ...
