Week 5 Day 29 - Exodus 33, 34, and 35

The Lord has not moved past the stiff-necked rebellion of Israel while He and Moses were on the mount. He tells them that he refuses to go onward with them; instead he would send an angel before them to help them. Then he informs them that if he went with them, there is a possibility that he would wipe out the entire nation. God is going to allow them another forty day period and once again invites Moses to the mount for forty more days. This time when he returns the people are not partying, maybe they were learning.

Point to Ponder

Moses asked God to allow him to see his glory and God was willing to answer his prayer. He took Moses up to the mount and as he passed by his servant was allowed to see the backside of God and his glory. The mere glimpse of God made the face of Moses shine. He had witnessed the Shekinah glory of God and others could see this due to his glow. It would benefit all of us to strive to see the glory of God, it would help us and our churches.

Point to Ponder

In meeting God upon the mount, Moses once again receives the previous commandments. The moral commandments of God have never changed and they are relevant in each age and in every setting. If we could grasp this truth, we would become more able to live a life of goodness, godliness, and holiness.

Point to Ponder

The Lord tells the people that it was time to bring the gifts for the tabernacle and everyone that had a willing heart was to bring gifts. The text says they went back to their tents and then those whose hearts had been stirred, and everyone whose spirit was willing begins to bring gifts. Something stood out to me in reading this, not everyone was stirred or willing. ...
