How We Change (4 of 10)
Series: No Other Gospel
Will McGee
Galatians 3:1-5
INTRODUCTION
There is this passage of Scripture in Romans 7 where The Apostle Paul sort of gets really honest for a minute. He vents his frustration with himself.
For I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very things I hate.
I'm sure that many of you felt this way... I don't want to keep doing these things... But I keep doing them.
I want to do all these good things.... But I never get around to doing them.
And we grow frustrated. Why do I keep doing these things I hate? Why can't I seem to find the motivation to do what I know I should do?
Beneath the surface... Of all our frustration... Is the question... What's wrong with me? And can I ever get better? Can I change? Do I have to go through this life the way I always have?
The testimony of the Scriptures... Is that yes, people can change. But for your behavior to truly and consistently change... You must be swept up into a different view of the world than the one you currently possess. You can't change your behaviors without changing your mind. How you view the world.
This is why alcoholics will try and try to quit drinking. With no success. Then, through some event or intervention, they see how it affects the people they love the most... Some event in their mind that changes their entire understanding.... gives them motivation to seek help. Get sober.
Something changes in their understanding of their world.

My teammates on the track team. I got angry... We got into a fight.
I told my roommate after that night that his friend ...
