Jonah 1:1-16

This prophecy and counsel ended up saving the nation of Israel from certain defeat, and as a result, it likely made Jonah a celebrated figure in the nation.
Spiritual leader... National hero.
This story opens up with God giving Jonah a new task... A new mission. A new calling/command: To leave Israel and arise and go to Ninevah, call out against them.
