INTRODUCTION
I love New York City... I love it for a million reasons... But perhaps the greatest reason is the food... Never in my life have I had this much access to great food.
Think of the joy that a good meal can bring your life...
- A taco from Tacos El Bronco. (Best $2.50 you've ever spent)
- Tanoreen... Or A good slice of cheesecake from Jean Danet bakery on 76th and 5th.
- Falaffel sandwhich from Hazar.
- There is this place that Jody took me to. Every dish had bacon in it.
- Food has a way of bringing joy into our lives.
- We have to eat food to live... But it isn't simply fuel... It is a medium through which joy, pleasure, community, and celebration happens. It is a gift from God.
- When we celebrate, we almost always do it over food/drinks... Weddings, birthday parties, job promotions. ''Go get drinks... Get some food.''
- Almost every first date you've ever been on included a long meal.
- When you go on vacation, the best part is planning where you will eat or what you will grill.
- A Yankees game at Yankee Stadium just isn't the same without a hot dog with mustard and relish...
Food matters to God... Because it is a gift he has given us.
The Apostle Paul even says, there So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
- The Scriptures imply that there is a way that we eat and drink that can bring glory to God.
- Jesus understood this... I want you to see that Jesus used mealtime as an opportunity to show people they were loved.... And that they were invited and accepted into the Kingdom of God.
