JESUS CHRIST OUR PEACE
Ephesians 2:14-18
We live in a world of estrangement. Everywhere
you look there is estrange one to
great lengths to try to resolve the world's
estrangement:
(1) The United Nations developed to resolve
estrangement among countries.
(2) World Council of Churches, National Council
of Churches developed to resolve estrangement among
religious bodies.
(3) NAACP, American Civil Liberties Union,
developed to resolve estrangement among races.
(4) Unions have been formed to resolve
estrangement between employers and employees.
(5) Psychologists and counselors are trained
and hang their shingles out to resolve estrangement
between family members.
(6) Marriage enrichment retreats are popular
in an effort to resolve estrangement between husbands
and wives.
The list could go on and on of ways men have
attempted to bring peace, harmony and reconciliation
to an estranged world. ever, most of these
attempts have proven to be futile failures, They
have failed because they are treating only symptoms
and not dealing the disease.
The reason there is estrangement between men is
because men are estranged from God. That is the
someone can reconcile men with God, then they will
be successful also in reconciling men with men.
