Week 3 Day 15 - Genesis 43, 44, and 45
The story of Joseph is now moving swiftly and in a matter of time he will vanish off of the biblical pages and Israel the nation will begin a 400 year journey of growth. Joseph refuses to allow his past circumstances and the past mistreatment of his brothers to diminish God's plan for his life. Joseph realized that God had a bigger plan for his life and regardless of how the circumstances had played out, this plan was going to be carried out. We must realize that God has a plan for each of our lives and we cannot allow the situations of life to diminish the bigger picture.
Point to Ponder
It seems that Jacob had inherited a bit of the trickery from his father and his uncle Laban. He plays a few games with his brothers and wants them to come to grips with the guilt that had been brewing within their hearts. The brothers of Joseph were continually reminded of how they had mistreated their brother and this inward guilt was getting the best of them.

Upon seeing Benjamin and after he had made his brothers struggle for a period of time, Joseph ushers all of the Egyptians from the room, and reveals himself to his eleven brothers. At first they are in shock and they refuse to allow their minds to see it is him. Then upon taking a closer look, they realize that Joseph is truly their brother and fear overcomes them. The inward guilt was now bubbling over and they assumed Joseph would most likely kill them. Joseph was a much bigger man than most; he merely loved them and forgave them.

Upon revealing himself and after discussing the matter with Pharaoh, Joseph sends his brothers to Canaan to fetch their families and their fat ...
